Getting started

• Open Inkidian and tap Choose Vault Folder. Pick your vault's top folder, the one that contains the .obsidian folder.
• Your vault is under On My iPad › Obsidian (local and Obsidian Sync vaults) or in iCloud Drive › Obsidian.
• Install the free Inkidian plugin in Obsidian on every device where you want to see your notes. See below.

Installing the Obsidian plugin

In Obsidian, open Settings › Community plugins › Browse, search for Inkidian, then install and enable it.

New plugins wait for review before they appear there. Until then, install it with BRAT:

• In Settings › Community plugins › Browse, install and enable BRAT.
• Run the command BRAT: Add a beta plugin for testing and paste toffalori/obsidian-inkidian.
• Enable Inkidian under Settings › Community plugins.

My notes don't show up on my other devices

• With Obsidian Sync, turn on syncing for other file types in Obsidian's Sync settings, so .inkd files are included.
• Obsidian Sync uploads changes while Obsidian is open. Open Obsidian on the iPad after writing, and wait for it to finish syncing.
• The other device needs the Inkidian plugin to show previews.

The Inkidian button in Obsidian doesn't open the app

• Make sure Inkidian is installed and you have opened it once.
• If Inkidian asks for the vault again, choose the same vault folder. iPadOS sometimes resets folder access after a restore or a vault move.

PDFs

Annotations are saved into the PDF as standard PDF annotations, so they show up in Obsidian, Preview, Acrobat and browsers. You can change or erase them later in Inkidian.

Images

When you tap Save or leave an image you annotated, choose Replace Image to update the image everywhere it is embedded in your notes, or Save as New Image to keep the original and add an annotated copy next to it. Turn on Remember My Choice to skip the question, and change it later in Settings › When Saving.

Purchases

• Inkidian is a one-time purchase after a 14-day free trial.
• Bought it on another iPad? Tap Restore Purchases in Inkidian's settings while signed in with the same Apple Account.
• Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

In the TestFlight beta, take a screenshot and tap Share Beta Feedback, or send feedback from the TestFlight app. It reaches me directly, together with the build number.
